Srinagar, Jan 18 (KNO): As the afternoon began, the atmosphere around the historical clock tower (Ghanta Ghar) turned pious with a group of young and energetic youth gaining attention opposite the clock tower with their unique stall, and a burqa-clad girl holding a poster that read, “Free Knowledge For Akhirat.” Standing on one side of the road, Hinna Manzoor, a resident of Karan Nagar Srinagar, and one of the girls from the group, said she is a scholar herself and is memorizing the Qur'an. She added that her aim in setting up such a stall and distributing Qur'an and free Islamic books is to spread religion among all. As per the details obtained by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), on the other side of the road and opposite the famous clock tower of Srinagar, a free Qur'an and Islamic books distribution stall was set up by a group of girls and boys from Srinagar. Among the stall holders, the girls were burqa-clad, and one was holding a banner with the words “Free Knowledge For Akhirat” written on it. One of the girls in the group, introducing herself as Hinna Manzoor, speaking with KNO, said the aim of setting up such a stall in Lal Chowk Srinagar is to spread “Islam Among All.” “We are here in Lal Chowk Srinagar to make people aware of Islam. We are distributing free religious books, Qur'an, hijabs, and other items among all. The motive behind distributing free books is to encourage people to come towards Islam,” said Hinna. She said the books are free of cost, and the aim is to spread Islam among all and make people aware of what is happening in society. “We have also set up many other ‘peace-loving books’ here. We are not only distributing free Qur'ans but also other books, and most of them promote peace. We have books in English, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, and other languages,” she said. Similarly, Wahid, a pediatrician, who saw the stall and the crowd in Lal Chowk, said it is inspiring to see young girls taking the initiative to spread knowledge and awareness about Islam in such a peaceful and kind manner. “This stall is a great step towards promoting unity and understanding through free access to religious teachings. In today’s world, such efforts are crucial to counter misunderstandings about Islam and spread its message of peace,” said Abdul Majeed, an elderly visitor to the stall. It is worth mentioning that the main focus of the stall was on non-locals and tourists who were taking glimpses of the stall and reading the Hindi and other translations of the books—(KNO)
